International Quilt Day in Richfield

Last Friday was a very "unfun" day in my life. At 4:45 AM my husband wanted to know why there was no water. We discovered that the sprinkler housing on the lowest point on the property had a leakage- cause not yet known then. In the process of trying to discover why the toilets would not flush, a brass chain in one tank was broken and it was found that an inch and a half brass valve would need to be replaced in the well house. My husband wrote a list of what he needed me to pick up and left for work. I literally dug into the problem under the sprinkler cover. I discovered a pvc pipe under a ninety connection was not glued. After cutting away several inches of roots surrounding this misfortune, I tried to bail out the water that continually seeped into this low area. Hours later, I seemed to have conquered this little task and set about trying to purchase all the needed parts. However, I was still in my 5AM Graybar tee shirt, now grossly grubby and dirt stained shorts. Needless to say it was a long day as Home Depot does not carry stainless steel nuts to go with the stainless steel bolts they sell.
It all ended well as my husband was able to quickly glue, assemble and replace the pieces I purchased and handed to him. I am so glad I have a fast fixit man husband.
We drove to Richfield and soothed all our aching parts in an extremely hot, hot tub. We slept in until at least 5:45 the next morning. That was nice!
I have inclued a few pictures of some of the quilts the Grove View Quilters shared at the International Quilt Day festivies there. I was in the back row and didn't get the shots I would have liked to have taken. But you can see the basic ideas. There were many, many more quilts and very lovely ladies explaining their quilts. It was very relaxing and enjoyable.

We returned from our trip to have fruit freshly picked from the tree in California. What a nice surprise Lana. Thanks.

I belive you can click on the photo and see the quilt in a larger view.

Yes, this one is blurry, but enlarged it reminds me of a colorful paperweight. Very detailed hand work here.

How do you like these whiskers?

Remember, save your old deniums, cut them up, sew them together and make a camp quilt.
While there I always get inspired to finish something to take to the next meeting.
(Maybe one year, I'll actually do that.)

How was the same lady standing in front of you during the whole quilt show? She had a nice headband. No really, I'm glad you had a good time, sorry about the well...hurry up and sell your house already so you don't have to deal with the well anymore.
