Happy 93rd birthday Grammie Capener

GRammie Capener just turned 93. She is quite amazing. I am told that she said her alaphabet and counted one to one hundred when her brother visited last week. I wasn't there and she didn't even speak when I came the following day. Anyway she looked good on her birthday.

Before she could have her cake she had brocolli, sweet potatoes and some kind of meat. This was before it was stirred together.

Chris (Lilia's sister) does the cooking and she made us sweet potato noodles with stir fried vegetables. It tasted very good and looked appetizing as well. She also made us ambrosia. In the Philippines they put in corn and grated cheese. It was tasty.

Happy Birthday to me!

After the train ride, we slept in Flagstaff; and awoke to snow coming down quite quickly. It was a beautiful ,but snowy ride to Phoenix. The trees were several inches thick with white white snow.  Unfortunately the snow plows couldn't keep up with it and we were not able to go to Oak Creek Canyon or Sedona. We'll go there sometime when the roads are clear.

Thank you Tammy for a very fun birthday party and delicious carrot cake. Natalie, Juliana, and I had a great time!We played pin the crown on Minnie Mouse. Blew stick out toys at each other and duck, duck, goose. It seemed to this 64 year old that they were much faster at jumping up and racing around the circle than I was. Thank goodness Tammy took a few adult turns, so it worked out quite well.

It was  a bit tricky to get shots of the girls when they weren't showing all their teeth and quite an exposure of gums.  They really had a fun time playing as cousins.
What a fun birthday. Thanks Tammy.

The Polar Express

Grandpa and I joined with Tammy, Jeremy, Natalie Smith and Cell, Lana, Juliana and Lucas to ride the Polar Express in Williams, Az on the 14th of December. It had snowed the previous day, so when the train reached to North Pole it was very authentically white. Natale and Juliana enjoyed each other's company while we were served cookies (nice large thick ones-tasted good), a chocolate drink (opt out of this if ever given the choice) ; The servers wore chef's hats, white chef uniforms and led us in Christmas songs on the ride; after Chris Van Allsburg's story was read, Santa joined us and gave each child a silver bell. We all had a jolly journey.

Ho,ho,ho. Have a Merry Christmas Everyone!

Sea World

Okay, so I haven't blogged in awhile and am not going to take the time to get words in between these pictures.
It was fun. Lucas enjoyed sleeping-which ws fine for al of us- and was very good when he was awake. We didn't worry about Juliana being kidnapped by strangers- only that she would run away with any family that had someone her own age in it. She loves playing with other children.
Grandpa seemed to enjoy everything. I enjoyed the Shamu show and water shows the most. ( Okay the camels, trying to bite each other into crippling positions, fascinated me also.)
