Visiting little Natalie

I had fun playing with my grand-daughter Natalie this week. She has lovely blue eyes and very dark hair. She still looks like her daddy, but is developing a girly look that is all her own.
See her lovely eyes here.

She loves this toy and pushes the top down to make it spin.

Oops, just turn your head, I didn't get it rotated.
She also likes to teeter and do an arm dance.

She is a very darling litttle girl. I enjoyed my time with her.

87 +2 but who's counting?

Our Humanitarian project is over ( all except the physical taking blankets to UMC ).
I set our goal at 50 because I wanted a successful goal and was afraid we might not reach more than that.
We had people filter through all day long, with the majority between 11:30 and 3:00. All fabrics were donated.  We supplied lunch and water and it was a good day. I was really pleased with the turnout and the final amount. The fabrics were very cute and people worked very hard.

Some sisters opted to make cards for the servicemen overseas.
Karleen smiled as she said that when this was over, her sewing machine was going straight to the garage -where she claimed it belonged.
We had a nursery-at times with 20 kids in it;but, a few were too young and intertained thenmselves.
Our dear Relief Club president came and ironed and ironed and ironed; she also brought flannel to use.  The plus two on the number equals the two purchased blankets one lady brought. Our president said she just wanted to buy hers, but managed to really come to help out instead. All our presidency was there and spent hours working dutifully and cheerfully to accomplish our goal. It happened! Now we can move on to next month -easy one- a progressive dinner.

Friday the 13th

Hope today goes well;very tired from yesterday; it had parts that were like a Friday the 13th; but final results were good. Photos later.

Happy anniversary Joe and Nannette

Nice to know you have parented so well that you don't even have to put Nate down. Must be nice to have children who go to their room and lay down and take a nap.
Happy anniversary!

Flowers for Nannette on her birthday.

Here are a few colorful images for you to enjoy on your birthday!

Okay this one is the fruit of the flower-but nice colors.

And I took this and discovered a real pickling cucumber growing nearby. Yummy.
Dad was watching the news this morning and suddenly asked, " Is today Nannette's birthday?"
Tlhe spotlight is on you. We love you, mom and dad.

What belongs in a storage container?

I have been working on discarding and organizing my quilt patterns; ( the discarding part was from quilt magazines [some from ones Sylvia sent me that her mother had purchased]). Lots of poundage went out in the trash last week. Tommorrow there will be two heavy duty black plastic bags and some weightly filled garbage cans. I managed to get through one shelf; but now have to put the saved ones back and in an organized manner.

I bought storage containers to sort out my different fabrics.

Here are some of the sorted quilt books.
This is what I finally realized storage quilt boxes were really for-climbing into to make oneself comfortable.

And if grandpa has the airconditioning on and the fan on, wrap a fleece shawl about your shoulders.
