April 20th Flew Air Virgin from Las Vegas to London , Gatwick Airpor t . 9 hr 50 minute flight. We took our Bonine and a bag of dried ginger. We left Las Vegas a hour and a half late. Why? Because the flight crew had not been picked up from their hotel yet.
The scenery was colorful as we neared London. We saw fields of green and then brilliant yellow fields. I later learned the yellow was 'rape' plants from which the seeds are crushed for oil used in cooking.

We switched planes at Gatwick and flew Aer Lingus (and took off late) to Dublin , Ireland . Arriving at 10:30 AM.
We rode the air link bus from the airpor t to place near Ashling Hotel. We were glad about this as it was cheap and we had thought we would have to pay big bucks for a taxi.
We packed lighter than the Australia trip, so transpor ting luggage was a little easier.
We rode a train into the city. We accidentally rode free, as we were not used to the system and thought we paid the driver on the train. We paid for all our other rides.
Dublin was older with lots of young people.I didn't mind feeling out of style-no black tights and short shorts. No rain. We looked through lots of shops and then found our first fish and chips place to eat. The fish was fresh and delicious. We were glad we didn't buy dinner from the Kentucky Fried Chicken shop next to it!We continued touring the shops. They had a market fair and people had booths and were selling various items. One woman had an old baby carriage and had very fresh large strawberries in it to sell.
It was coolish, so we bought dad a jacket. I had a lighthouse sweatshirt jacket and was okay.
Okay, I admit it- I am not fond of this new format, so will stop for today.
