We flew from Las Vegas to Los Angeles Friday November 25 ( the day after Thanksgiving), leaving Las Vegas on a United flight at 5:50PM. We left there at 11:40 PM and (after 15hours in the air) arrived in Sydney at 9:25 AM on Sunday. Crossing the international date line we lost one day. I managed to sleep on the plane and did okay that day in Sydney. Michael was a bit tired. We were picked up at the airport and saw part of Sydney as our driver dropped off other passengers. It's a busy place with many interesting buildings.
On the street next to our hotel was a street fair. Lots of items ranging from hand crafted ( really really cute) hopping wooden kangaroos to fancy jewelry, purses, clothes, etc.
Yes you can see Grandpa in the photo. I did not realize it was a weekend event and I did not buy the items I wanted as I thought we could go back the next day. But it was gone the next morning.
One could see red stone in this sculpure as well as in walk ways, store decor and more throughout the city.
I never quite got used to the drivers using the left lanes there. This sign was in big bold letters and helped us remember to look in the correct direction when crossing the street. ( I did almost get wiped out in NZ one day as the car was faster than me, and coming from the wrong direction.)
I am trying to get the book together for this trip, so may not get blog done for awhile.
