Spending the week at the cabin was cool ( around 50 something degrees) and relaxing. I have managed to delete the photos of the twin blade helicopter that we saw logging on the way up to Cedar Breaks. But it was very interesting how it kept in constant motion, picking up and moving the huge trees.
Juliana came up for the weekend and found climbing into the fabric box unique and entertaining. She sorted through fat quarters, before selecting fabrics to concentrate her attention and then stack and toss. It looked like she was having as much fun as Lana and I were having cutting up Christmas fabric for a future quilt.

At the quilt show this chick caught my eye. I really liked the lower belly design.

The owner of the Lazy Daisy Cottage in St. George shared her quilts for the Saturday morning trunk show. She has published her own cook book, but encouraged us to look at the Panguitch Quilt Walk festival's quilt book. She especially thought we should check out the 'lumpy dick' recipe on page three. Interesting to note what the pioneers did to survive during the hard times.

Glenna on the left and Candy on the right displaying the Party Mix top Candy finished in a day and a half. Background center is a "free" quilt Glenna cut and pieced from fabric given to her. It features Elvis squares and bright colors. On the left is the Christmas Magic Nine Patch quilt top I finished. The pattern was givn to Candy by someone at the temple. It is so nice when people share their ideas. Our little group has high hopes of using some of our "Mary" fabric next year with this very same pattern. We really limited ourselves to only purchasing a few fat quarters during this year's Quilt Walk. We are trying to get over the SABLE disease (stash accumulated beyond life expectancy). The disease, however, is winning.

Both Glenna and I took a Lone Star class a couple of years back. We stuck to our guns and put in the four corners and the four triangles the first thing this year. Now we simply have to square it up and put on borders. Hers is a beautiful orange with blues.

We ate well, slept little and worked hard. What a way to have fun! Maybe Sherry (or Marcia or Kathy) will join us next year?
